How does it work/what do I need?

Photovoltaics are best known as a method for generating electric power by using silicone solar cells to convert energy from the sun into a flow of electrons. In other words, PV systems convert sunlight directly into electricity.

A PV system consists of an arrangement of several components, including solar panels to absorb and directly convert sunlight into electricity, a solar inverter to change the electrical current from DC to AC, as well as mounting, cabling and other electrical accessories to set-up a working system. It may also include an integrated battery solution and use a solar tracking system to improve the system's overall performance by following the path of the sun during daytime.
